Manzeki Strait

Manzeki Strait is an artificial strait that was cut in 1868 between Aso Bay and Miura Bay by the navy in order to let torpedo boats reach at the Tsushima Straits East Water Supply. The bridge over the straight is known as Manzeki Bridge was rebuilt for the second time in 1996. The bridge and the ebb and flow of the strait create exquisite whirling tides. This is a beautiful place to experience history and nature.
